Imagine gliding through the glassy water, slicing the surface with every oar stroke. The Sea Glider 16 is the boat for those who love being on the water under their own power. Eye-catching styling and impressive speeds are sure to bring ripples to the paddling community.
The Sea Glider 16 was designed by Nick and Larry Graf of Aspen Power Catamarans. With more than 20 years of design experience, and manufacturing expertise; the Sea Glider design stems from the love of small boats as well as large ones. This is how we can deliver the ultimate rowing experience.
Catamarans while relatively new to the west have a very long history. They have been used for centuries in Southeast Asia and India for fishing and transportation and allowing seafaring Polynesians to settle in the world’s most remote islands.
The design gives the boater an extremely stable and smooth ride. Based on two finely shaped hulls bridged together to create a platform, the high length to width ratio reduces drag and increases speed and efficiency. “It rows very fast and is a fun exercise,” said Destry Toney of Maverick Outdoors. Two hulls are better than one. While unique for a rowboat, canoe, or kayak; there is no fear of tipping over and getting wet. The Sea Glider 16’s “Patent Pending Hull” gives you the ability to move freely on the boat, and allows you to stand on the edge of either side.
It’s great for open water as well as shallow rivers and lakes. The Sea Glider needs only a few inches to float, yet has the ability to carry large loads. Camping in remote areas is made easy and fun. Since catamarans have more usable space than ordinary boats, this is an excellent choice for fishing and hunting.
