Azimut's Magellano 53 is a boat built for long distances and extended stays perfectly suited for cruisers looking to point their bow at the horizon and simply keep on going.
There is a really well-appointed master suite amidships, with a luxurious head and shower, distinctive circular hull windows, and opening portholes. The VIP is forward, and has en suite access to a shared head compartment on the starboard side. Headroom below ranges from 6 feet 5 inches to 6 feet 10 inches and the berths are all full size. The twin cabin has a surprising volume of useful stowage space. There is a fourth cabin which can be used purely for storage or a single berth and storage (the current owner uses it as a stewardess cabin). Distinctive circular hull windows and opening portholes offer an open, airy feeling.
With large and comfortable seating areas on the foredeck, in the cockpit, inside and up top, it has a notably versatile and user-friendly layout. The galley is aft, and the three-part cockpit door slides right over to open up the main deck completely, creating a very attractive and comfortable living area. It works well, and views all around from the raised seating at the saloon table are stunning.
A notable feature of the foredeck is the lounge. It’s no basic sunpad but rather a full U-shaped settee that will accommodate 10 people for cocktail hour.
The yacht also accommodates a small crew cabin in the stern. The spacious cockpit has a bar, a large sofa, and a more ample table. The hydraulic swim platform is big and capable of lifting a tender of the Williams 320 class, or around 880 pounds.
Azimut’s Magellano models are famous for their distinctive underwater shape. In essence it combines the full, rounded sections of a traditional displacement-type hull with unusually broad chine flats, which enable it to plane. This combination of lift and displacement is intended to provide the speed of a planing boat and the flexibility of a more traditional design. A 17-degree deadrise amidships transitions to eight degrees at the transom, giving the Magellano 53 a unique ability to cruise efficiently at 10 knots but also plane at 20 plus knots when it’s time to get going. For those interested in long distance cruising - at 8 knots she has a range of 1000 nautical miles, and if you’d rather push her to 20 knots, you’ll still get 370 nautical miles out of her.
This 2018 Azimut Magellano 53 has only one owner and has never been chartered. There are 984 engine hours and 880 generator hours. She presents superbly, seller is upsizing hence her availability.
For people who want to cruise further afield, without giving up the comfort and elegance of Azimut yachts, but whose real destination is the carefree frivolity of the journey itself. Magellano is always gentle and safe in navigation and has excellent fuel consumption thanks to the innovative Dual Mode hull and its wide range of cruising speeds. The interior spaces were designed for long stays on board, with welcoming living areas and spacious cabins.
