The Hallberg-Rassy 42 F is well known to be a comfortable cruising yacht for which distance is no object. The HR 42 has a rugged reputation to suit the yachtsman who is not interested in the latest regatta gimmicks but in a proper yacht with more than respectable speed to take you anywhere and anytime in any condition.
Jasmine has all the right gear and equipment as well as the ideal layout and has been constantly updated.
Here are some of her recent upgrades and highlights:
Interior in matte finish mahogany, sole is varnished teak with inlaid holly stripes. 13 portlights for natural light, 11 of the portlights are opening for ventilation. 12V fans throughout, reverse cycle air, and a forced air diesel heater offer additional comfort and ventilation. Beige carpeting with rubber backing (2013) and curtains (2013). Blue upholstery in forward and aft cabins, upgraded Dinamica (faux suede) in salon in dark blue. Custom bug screens on all portlights and hatches. Cold fluorescent light fixtures in salon, galley, nav station and aft cabin.
Salon - Spacious headroom (6' 7") with comfortable seating. Settee and a strong, attractive dining table. 2 signature Hallberg-Rassy easy chairs. Storage behind settee and chairs, ample lockers and shelves.
Forward Cabin - Two berths with plenty of storage above and below, several lockers. Opening portlight and hatch with custom screening and light blocking liner. Headroom 6' 6". V berth insert and step. The door to the forward cabin has been arranged in such a way to allow free movement for dressing and undressing.
Forward head compartment - Lockers and bulkheads in white laminate. Shower, teak grating, shower curtain, china wash basin. Faucet in washbasin is pulled out for shower use. Opening portlight and hatch. Headroom 6' 4". Vacuum flush, fresh water toilet with separate holding tank. Soap/shampoo/body wash dispenser. Solar powered ventilator fans. Full accessability from any part of the boat without disturbing anyone.110V outlet
Nav Station and Walkthrough - Comfortable chart table seat with spacious chart table. Bookshelves and pencil holder. 4 drawers and stowage slots. Electric panel is to port of the navigator. Large, 2 door access to the engine room off the walkthrough. 3 LED shop light fixtures in engine room. Wet locker and cupboards on portside.
Aft Cabin - Hanging locker on portside with storage above and below. 2 generous, comfortable berths. Middle settee and mirror. Custom memory foam mattress for berths. Portlights and hatch with light blocking liner. Ensuite head compartment. Reading lights. Custom wood frame screen for aft hatch.
Aft head compartment - Separate shower stall with seat and shower curtain. Lockers and bulkheads in white laminate. China wash basin and large mirror. Opening portlight and solar powered ventilator fan. Soap/shampoo/bodywash dispenser. Shower pump is Gulp pump with manual switch for utmost reliability. Fresh water vacuum flush toilet with separate holding tank. 110V outlet
Sea-going U-shape galley with with good storage. Deep, double stainless steel sink with custom faucet with swivel spray head and pull sprayer. Working surface in marble effect laminate with cover over sink. Specific area for waste bin.
GRP Hull - Hull Construction - CE Category A for Unlimited Ocean Voyage - Certificate by Germanischer Lloyd. The Hull Construction Certificate has been extended to full certification by Germanischer Lloyd. Not only the hull, deck and bulkheads are checked by GL, but also electronic installations, engine installation, rigging, steering system, safety equipment, stability range and more. 100A5 certificate (full certification) by Germansicher Lloyd.
Cockpit - On starboard side there is a generous sized, dry stowage locker with storage slots for wash boards. The cockpit floor is covered with a teak grating. Wheel steering with single engine control lever. Recesses for two winch handles. Highly varnished folding teak cockpit table. Panel for engine instruments in the steering pedestal within easy reach of helmsman. The canvas sprayhood/dodger can be rolled away neatly into a protective cover. On either side of sliding hatch there are varnished covered work surfaces, ideal as chart tables, etc. Above the sliding hatch is the B & G wind, log, depth sounder. 12 Volt socket. The companionway and cockpit chart tables are varnished. Two large cockpit drains.
Entertainment Systems -
Double spreader rig by Seldén. Main boom with outhaul and two reefs. Jib furling and reefing system Seldén Furlex. Three winches, one for reefing, two for main and jib halyards. Generous dimensions of standing and running rigging avoid fatigue during unrestricted ocean sailing. Turnbuckles from Hasselfors, aluminium protection tubes from Seldén, blocks and winches from Lewmar. Windex. Anchor light on mast top.
