The Vanguard Club Junior is a light, tough, agile performer that is available with or without a spinnaker package. Especially popular on lakes and rivers, the Club Junior tacks and accelerates quickly, making the best use of restricted sailing areas. The Club Junior is also well suited to handle open water, waves, and big breezes. Its large, comfortable buoyancy tanks ensure that the Club Junior is both self-rescuing and safe. With a tough non-tapered mast, external halyards, and a simple layout, the Club Junior is suitable for Optimist sailors and college All-Americans alike. There are over 800 boats in use in club programs, and more than 100 active college fleets. The Club Junior is a fantastic choice for clubs, high schools, or colleges looking to introduce young sailors to double-handed sailing. It is a boat that can teach beginners how to sail, or teach sailors how to become All-Americans. The Vanguard Club Junior features Plexus, a bonding material that is being used exclusively by Vanguard to bond the hull to the deck at the rails, floor flanges, and all other structural parts on the Club Junior. The bonding material is stronger and significantly more elastic than traditional bonding materials. It increases the durability of the entire boat especially the critical hull deck joint. As well, Vanguard uses Harken hardware and the highest quality resins, ensuring that our Club Junior's hold up under the most rigorous and demanding conditions.
