Sloop over 15 meters in length, the idea was to offer a fast performance, safe boat, through an ULDB project still competitive, even after 35 years with open ocean racing participation and podium finishes even today. The relative low cost to obtain, tough construction and readily easy modifications make this boat an extremely competitive and fun boat.
Originally the ULDB's do lack comfort, and are not designed for cruising; however this Gieffe 51 was refitted for a cruising use after done a few time the ARK., proving to be a stalwart competitor despite its older design.
Below deck, the forward cabin offers a very large double bed and is connected to a hallway with a spacious bathroom and a wardrobe. The saloon is made up of a comfortable room, with an U-shaped sofa to starboard and opposite to starboard is the linear galley with plenty of storage. Aft to starboard in front of the galley is the navigation station with charter table. Behind the galley and the charter table, the 2nd toilet aft to board and 2 other large twin cabins
Refinished over the years by its 3 owners, equipped with a complete sail set and 1997 Yanmar 85 HP with 3900 engine hours, 2018 Raymarine instruments out side, hydraulic swimming platform and 2019 bowthruster.
