ZANZIBAR is a beautifully maintained Gilles Vaton design flush deck, cutter rigged sailing yacht. small cabin top aft of the mast, a large guest cockpit, and separate aft sailing cockpit with twin wheels. She has accommodations for six or seven owners and guests in three ensuite staterooms forward, and up to four crew in two cabins aft. Rule 2000 gph submersible pump in lazarette bilge
Forward in the accommodations, the large and very quiet Master Stateroom features king size berth against the aft bulkhead to starboard, with night tables and reading lights. To port is a desk with pullout section and with bookshelves above, forward of which are huge hanging lockers. Through twin doors in the forward bulkhead are the "his and hers" head compartments, finished in green marble, with large stall showers with seats. Light and air are provided by six deck hatches with blinds and screens, and two fixed hull ports.
Almost a mirror image of the port stateroom, the starboard Guest Stateroom is slightly smaller in width. There is a queen size berth above which is a slide-out "Pullman" berth. The head and shower compartment is similar to that in the port side guest stateroom.
The powerful rig is versatile and easy to manage. There are several refinements, such as running backstay blocks in below deck boxes, which keep the running rigging ‘lines on deck' to a minimum.
