The Sabre 42 is a well designed boat and her credentials include a nomination in 1987 as Sailing World magazine’s “Boat of the Year” for her size range. Her sailing characteristics are outstanding. She has a well-balanced sail plan, with equal sized fore triangle and main which offers unparalleled sailing quality's. A powerful hull shape yields excellent performance either on the race course or on the blue water cruise. 'Retrieve' features shoal-draft and is set-up for ease-of-handling with her recently installed LeisureFurl Boom and Electric Halyard Winch, Simrad Autohelm and GPS Chartplotter and Radar at the helm.
'Retrieve' has the traditional two-head, two-shower Sabre 42 layout, sleeping 7 in two-private cabins, with a spacious main salon. Forward is the V-berth with storage below and shelves outboard....there is opening hatch and two opening ports. Aft to port is the forward head and shower, with hanging lockers across.
The Main Salon features a settee to port, with a large dining table that folds-up against Magazine rack on the Main Bulkhead. There is abundant storage and shelving above the settee's. Teak and Holly Sole 2012.
Aft to starboard is a customized Nav Station with instrument read-outs and ships AC/DC Electric Panel.
Moving aft to port is a large aft stateroom with a double bunk with hanging lockers and drawers. Teak and Holly floor replaced 2012. The aft head has entry points from the stateroom as well as the main salon. The ventilation on these boats is remarkable, with 7 hatches on the cabin top and six stainless opening ports on the cabin sides.The main salon is satin varnished teak, with a varnished teak and holly cabin sole.
Across from Nav Station to starboard, there is a large Galley, featuring a gimballed CNG 4-burner stove and oven. The white counterspace is plentiful and the double stainless sinks have pressure H & C water, as well as hand pump fresh & salt water wash.The storage in the galley is great as is the built in trash bin, that stows away.
Westerbeke 4-Cyl, 46 hp FWC diesel engine w/full instrumentation at Helm. Racor Fuel filter. 2-Batteries replaced 2015. Cockpit controlled engine blower system. Manual and Auto-electric bilge pump. Bronze sea cocks on all thru-hulls below water line.
Deck is SABRE's contrasting "cloud gray" non-skid option, very easy on the eyes and very attractive.
