The “Robert E. Lee” is a Unique, Classic One of a Kind, Custom Built, All-Steel Construction River Boat with twin screw Detroit 453 Diesels,  137hp each and handles on the rivers with ease at 8 knots cruising getting excellent fuel mileage for her size. NEW GAGES & RADAR. 

 The current owner purchased in 2017 and did a total interior remodel by upgrading to laminate flooring, instruments and new A/C window units etc.  Her engines are rebuilt (2016) by previous owner. 

The boat was built in 1953 by Kansas City Bridge Company Marine Ways, Plaquemine, Louisiana. (SEE PLAQUE  IN PHOTOS)  To truly appreciate this vessel, it is A MUST SEE!

The “Robert E. Lee “has wide walkways with railings & is extremely desirable for corporate entertaining or large family gatherings. She has been extremely popular around the rivers near Lake Pontchatrain & New Orleans but could easily be taken up to the lakes and rivers of Tennessee or Kentucky.  

First floor from the Bow, has the ships main salon/lounge with flat screen TV. Walking down hallway toward aft galley you have two starboard staterooms. (Captain & Crew Quarters))  There are two separate heads with showers (all on bottom floor).  Further back is the fully equipped galley and large dinette.  Galley with 4-burner gas stove, hood with vent fan, microwave, refrigerator and large country sink and large storage cabinets  giving plenty of room for food preparation.  There are two A/C window units on first floor (one forward and one aft). Furniture remains in all rooms.  

The second deck pilothouse offers two single berths and lockers.  Two sets of doors on each side also have original screened doors to allow a breeze when underway or sleeping. All walkaround decks have covered walkways and a huge covered area aft deck with large dinette table, bar area, chest freezer, grills and BBQ gas grill.  Ideal for entertaining  large groups. There is also a 16’ flat bottom dingy with lift on the second floor.

Interior spaces are wooded out with a variety of woods.  Plywood bulkheads & over heads, wood joiner trim, steel sole.  Built in wood joiner built in cabinets, cupboards, lockers, furniture, bunks and beds.  12-volt DC overhead lighting.  Custom built steel framed windows set in mahogany wood joiner interior frames.

Hull is divided by three transverse bulkheads with 4 compartments reckoning from the bow:  NEW 2017 Northern Lights 12kw generator in forward compartment, with 293 hours,  fuel tank room, machinery space and lazaret.    She has no KEEL but a slight "V" Bottom with essentially a flat bottom design with a 2’ draft.  Bilge is clean and dry.

All decks are steel welded 1/4" plate and freshly painted.  Main deck house up top.  Spacious and roomy.

Instruments:  New Radar, New GPS, Tachometer, Water Temp. gage, Oil pressure, volts and gear oil pressure gauges.  

Engine hours are unknown but run great and have been well maintained. Main engines and generator are raw water cooled.

Fresh Water Pump, Hot water heater, air conditioning/heating window units, marine head with macerator fresh water system.

Mechanical steering system, single helm station, chain and sprocket helm cable and sheave system to rudder quadrants with jockey bar between rudders.

This magnificent vessel for cruising brings enjoyment to all who see her.
