BRIEF HISTORY

The ship was built in 1953 as a passenger liner. In 1973 she was sold and converted into a ferry, and fitted with a ramp for cars on the aft deck. In 1976-1977 she functioned as a hotel ship. In 1978 she was bought and had extra cabins added on the aft deck and a sky bar was added. In 1982 the ship's original steam engines were replaced by a MAN 2900 hp diesel engine. In 1989 the engine was again replaced by new MAN 3600 hp diesels to increase her speed to 16 knots. From 1979-2013 she was doing cruises of varying lengths, and in 2013 she was moored and is being used as a floating hostel. The ship was listed on the Swedish National Maritime Historical Register.
