The Sun Odyssey 52.2 is built to order, with racing lines and a performance version that includes a tall mast and deep keel. With top priority being comfort on board, the cockpit is one of the largest among boats of this category. The perfectly integrated deck hardware simplifies sail handling. The main traveler and the genoa tracks are totally removed from the deck passageways; the optional staysail and the asymmetrical spinnaker assure the comfort and safety philosophy under all conditions. On board, the overall concept of space and interior design borders on the ease and comfort of a luxury yacht. The choice of quality material such as teak, and the carefully detailed finish work combine for a high level of craftsmanship. The U-shaped galley is wide and well ventilated, and fully functional with a quality stove and oven, icebox, and refrigerator. Along with many easy-access storage cabinets and lockers, the galley has an easy to clean Antium countertop. The salon is warm and friendly and the navigation station has been particularly well designed. Many hatches and portholes provide soft natural lighting throughout the interior. All of the comfortable cabins are accessible from the main salon and each of them has its own separate washroom with shower, toilet, and sink. The owner's version forward cabin is comfortably equipped with a large berth, a desk, a vanity, two wide hanging lockers, a private washroom, and storage lockers.
