Designed by Bill Crealock, S/V Lizzie is a 40 ft, aft-cockpit, double-ended, performance-cruising cutter, with a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder. She features very heavy duty construction, featuring a solid fiberglass hull with no coring and simulated planking. The coach house and deck are cored and in great condition. The cockpit and coach house were re-gelcoated about 4 years ago and have 14 non-leaking, inward-opening bronze ports. The deck and cockpit feature teak planking, and still in good to very good condition.
Rigging and Sails Rigging This boat is cutter rigged, with a keel-stepped, single-spreader Isomat mast and boom. The mast is in good shape with minimal abandoned drill holes and corrosion. The chain plates are easily accessible inside the boat for inspection and maintenance, and been periodically re-caulked and have no indication of corrosion. The whisker pole is stored and launched from the mast. The headstay is fitted with a Plastimo furler, and the staysail is fitted with a Schaffer furler.
