The Pearson 303 is a great boat for family day sailing and coastal cruising. Between 1983 and 1986, Pearson Yachts in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, churned out over 300 of these compact but roomy masthead sloops. She has a "big boat feel" that defies her 30-foot length. The 10-foot beam allows sleeping quarters for five, a small galley, comfortable dining area, and adequate privacy. For sleeping arrangements, there's a quarter berth aft while the settees in the saloon count as two single-berths. The master cabin forward has a generous V-berth for two with small bureau, hanging locker and cubbies. The head, located to starboard and forward of the saloon, is roomy enough so as not to feel cramped when using the handheld shower hose and nozzle. Four large portholes allow in plenty of natural light, enhanced by deck hatches for both illumination and ventilation. She features a teak-and-holly sole and carries 38 gallons of freshwater. Headroom throughout is 6 feet 3 inches. Glass Jewel has been fully shrink wrapped and stored out of water each winter with Bristol Marine. The Stanchions and other deck fittings have been professionally refit (also by Bristol Marine).

Having been surveyed in October, 2020, Glass Jewel, originally priced at $19,500 has been reduced to $12,500. This change reflects items noted in the survey that need to be addressed. Below is an excerpt from the survey describing what was done and the deficiencies discovered:

The hull (topsides and bottom), deck, rudder, interior bulkheads and stringers were examined visually, with a Protimeter moisture meter (readings are on a relative scale with 1000 being the highest reading, 100 -200 being normal low readings), and with a sounding hammer:
Keel - Fair, no evidence of hard grounding.
Bottom - Found smooth and fair. Percussion sounding indicates a sound laminate. No osmotic blisters were noted. A crack at the trailing edge of the keel sump has been repaired. Repairs appear to be to good marine practice.
Rudder - Foam filled FRP. Skeg mounted. Evidence of mild moisture intrusion. Lower gudgeon is retaining moisture behind it. The upper rivet appears to have decayed at its head. It should be removed, the area and hardware cleaned, and refastened
Topsides - Fair. The topsides have been painted by hand. That paint is lifted and flaking off.
Decks - Non-skid fiberglass, Balsa core. Degraded core material was discovered: around the stbd chain plate, at the stem from port side to the 2nd stanchion from the bow, at the aft end of the stbd sail track, at the stbd quarter, and the aft half of the cockpit sole.
Hull/Deck Joint - Vertical plane / raised deck overlap. The joint appears to have leaks stbd side around the stbd bulkhead in the fwd cabin.
Hatches & Ports-Gaskets - Evidence of leaks noted around the port fwd saloon window, and down the stbd coach roof handrails.
Bulkheads and tabbing - Teak veneer plywood. Bulkhead deterioration noted stbd side bottom at the settees, along the top by the coach roof, and the top portion of the bulkhead stbd side in the head. The partitions in the saloon stbd settees are discolored, and the aft set show early signs of deterioration.

Note: The survey was terminated prior to launching for sea trial and testing of other systems.
