This Halmatic 30 was designed by John Sharp and built by Barbican Yachts in 1984. She is a sturdy long keel cruiser with transom hung rudder. She has been ashore for a number of years and as a result is in need of major refurbishment, hence the low asking price.
'Yachting Monthly' once described the Halmatic 30 desgn as an excellent sea boat, well balanced with comfortable motion making them safe and secure cruisers capable of serious offshore sailing. Around 200 were built up until the nineteen eighties and Halmatic are still building yachts today, albeit generally of a much bigger size.
The long keel heavy displacement design makes for excellent sea keeping qualities in all conditions offering blue water adventures or comfortable coastal cruising. The Halmatic is surprisingly spacious with internal joinery work robustly constructed.
This boat is offered at a low price because she needs taking in hand and brought back to good condition. Some instruments such as the radar are not currently working and may have been affected by damp. The engine was last run in April 2018 and started first time.
She is currently stored ashore on a launching cradle which is included. She is stored at a private cruising club in Lancashire and a new owner could continue to store her there by becoming a member of the club.
