Truly one of the best performance single handers that when sailed by two is still fun to sail. She is good up to three crew, but can be sailed by one person giving you the ability to do this due to the amazing stability that the scow type hull affords.

Quick to plane (skip on top of the water) the MC Scow as a single handed sailboat that is a Cadillac " LASER ". Much easier to sail than the Laser, yet more powerful and in most conditions much faster. Great boat for the new to sailing or to an accomplished sailor with years of experience. The balance on the rudder and proper sail controls will tell you all you need to know until she " Takes off ".

On the home front, your first mate will revel in the stability of the boat in all conditions.

Stable, easy to rig, a joy to sail, and in the case of this MC Scow # 557, she is in remarkable condition. Cosmetically,the gel cote on this MC Scow makes you think she has been stored inside for most of her life - - and apparently has.

Melges is the founder of the MC design, a high-quality 16-foot one-design racer which boasts nearly 2000 sailing nation wide. Melges along with the MC class have formed nearly 70 fleets from New York to San Francisco. The International MC Class Sailboat Racing Association has a very strong following throughout its 30-plus-year history. The strength of this class is based on closely followed one-design rules allowing new and used boats to sail competitively. There are over 60 active fleets racing nationwide.

Due to its simple configuration, one person can rig the boat i minutes and can ramp or hoist launch it as well. The boat is constructed in fiberglass.The following are a few unique characteristics of the MC Scow: single or double handed sailing, trailerable with any vehicle, nationwide regatta schedule,expert knowledge and assistance to all sailors at factory or regatta sites, demonstration sails available, seminars and instruction, trailering packages, sails and covers available.
