Deck & Hull
This Vessel's hull, decking, and superstructure are in excellent operable condition.
- Repainted in 2017 and deemed in excellent serviceable condition by the U.S. Coast Guard in May 2017
- Bulwark supports replaced with new supports and received the International marine epoxy paint job
- Underbody received ablative bottom paint after Coast Guard Inspection before relaunching
Engine Room & Mechanical
Machinery:
Two Caterpillar, Model: D-379, 8 cylinder air starting, fresh water cooled with keel coolers, 575 hp at 1200 RPM, diesel engines, driving Caterpillar reverse gears Model: 3192 with 5.31:1 ratio for each end.
Motor Controls:
Mathers pneumatic type with a single lever for throttle and reverse gear control for each engine, two control stations, located at each end of the wheelhouse.
Engine Exhaust System:
Dry type with steel piping and steel mufflers. All piping is lagged in the engine room, insulated at bulkheads and exits through the cabin top stack.
Drive Train:
Two stainless steel 5' diameter shafts with hydraulic disc shift brakes, pillow blocks and 6 bolt compression type packing glands for each end.
Steering System:
Electric over hydraulic type jog stick steering with two control stations located in the wheelhouse at the No. 1 and No. 2 ends
Ship's Service Generators:
Three 55KW, 240 volts, 3 phase synchronous AC 1900 RPM generators with 4 cylinders 12 VDC electric start, fresh water cooled Cummins Diesel engines. Two generators installed in the engine room and one emergency generator installed on the car deck level.
Electrical Systems
AC Systems:
Three 240 volt four-cylinder Cummins powered 55 KW gen sets, one main, one back up, and one emergency supply ship's service power while underway or 480 VAC dockside shore power with onboard step down transformers with main switch panels, reverse polarity indicators, distribution/breaker panels, fuse panels, transformers for low voltage circuits, switch boxes, motor control boxes, and basket weave armored conduit and plastic covered marine type wiring. Watertight marine type exterior fixtures; marine type and industrial type interior fixtures Square D breaker, system and motor controls.
DC Systems:
DC power is supplied by an onboard battery bank. The system contains distribution panels with switches, fuses, circuit breakers for branch circuits, voltmeters, and ammeters. Wiring is an armored conduit and plastic covered marine type wiring. Exterior fixtures are a watertight marine type. Interior fixtures are marine 12 and 24 VDC types. Emergency lighting power is supplied by lead-acid storage batteries.
Accommodations
Interior Passenger seating and a total of four heads above the car deck in the "wing lounges". The starboard side wing lounge had been converted to an open seating area with a wet bar and a private lounge on the forward end. The port side wing lounge has been converted to a "Tiki" bar with authentic decorations and an open floor plan with easy movement.
Tankage
Fuel System:
Two integral steel tanks consisting of port and starboard main tanks with an approximate 12,000-gallon capacity each with remote shut-off valves at the tanks, steel piping, strainers, Racor filters, and flex lines at the engines, screened vents on tanks, and fuel transfer pump at the main manifold. Fuel trap at fuel fill areas on port and starboard sides.
Potable Water System:
One independent 300-gallon steel tank with a shut-off valve at the tank, galvanized steel piping, manifold, fittings, one electric water heater, and two electric powered pressure units complete with surge tanks.
Marine Sewage Disposal System:
One 1000 gallon holding tank with an electrically driven discharge pump to deck pump-out fitting.
Auxilary Systems
Dewatering Systems:
Two 240 AC electrically powered 4' diameter discharge centrifugal bilge/fire pumps with manual switches. Manual switch located at the bilge manifold. Bilge manifold is well labeled and accesses every bilge compartment.
Ventilation System:
Natural and mechanical type for passenger deck and personnel accommodations with forced draft circulation through heating/airconditioning system, or through a door, port light window and vent openings.
Navigation Aids
All electronics have multiple units on both ends including but not limited too:

Safety and Signaling Equipment
Required Lights and Signal Apparatus:
Red and green 10 pt. side lights properly screened; white 20 pt. bow light; white 20 pt. bow range light; white 12 pt. stern light; for each end. Two single trumpet pneumatic horns, one on each end.
Emergency Lighting System:
Independent battery powered system complete with battery maintainer, relays, and lanterns.
LIFE-SAVING GEAR:
One 12’ Oceanus Hard bottom Inflatable HIN# XMO29013J011 with 50 hp Honda outboard. Three, Elliot 80 person self-inflating life rafts mounted on the cabin top, 355 Adult PFD’s and approximately 35 Children’s type III PFD’s
Full smoke and thermal detection system installed and operational, control and monitoring panels in both wheel houses and E.O.S.
PORTABLE FIRE FIGHTING APPARATUS:
Multiple portable fire extinguishers properly mounted throughout the vessel. All extinguishers are fully charged and have current certification tags.
FIXED FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEMS:
One, electric powered, 4” dia. rotary pump with a piped fire main to multiple fire fighting stations. Each station equipped with hose rack and valve.
One 14 bottle CO2 automatic system with automatic/manual discharge to engine room housed under the main car deck on the port side. Co2 bottles have current certification tags.
Accessories
- A custom-built food/beverage trailer is located on the forward car deck.
- A custom installed Soundcraft and JBL sound system.
- A custom installed Blizzard and Eliation lighting system.
- A custom designed 30x30 party tent on board.
