In 2002 the vessel underwent an extensive restoration under the supervision of Huckins. Approx 40% of the bottom was replaced using original designs enhanced by modern technology. Exterior and interior were painted. Interior was completely refit, modern communications and entertainment were integrated while maintaining the vessels historical integrity.
