This unique, fully restored and well maintained classic motor yacht, was built in 1946 by the famous shipyard De Vries Lentsch, the yard was one of the partners of the Feadship group which was founded in 1949 along with four other shipyards.
It is a round bilged fan bow with open cockpit. In 2000 until 2001 the vessel was completely restored, more or less rebuilt by Claasen Jachtbouw Zaandam and equipped with all contemporary requirements and comfort and since then very well maintained.
Dimensions: 12.05x3.50x1.00 equipped with 114 hp Vetus Deutz built in 2009.
In 2019 the vessel was completely repainted by a professional yacht painter and the teak deck refitted.
The Rumba, because that is the name of the ship, is a real boat for the lover of classic lines and history. At the end of the 1940s, a novelist lived in The Hague. At the time, she had just written a novel called Rumba, a story set in Africa. She built this boat from the proceeds of that book. Why? Because her husband, who had been a merchant marine captain during the war years, was retiring at the time. She and her husband wanted to enjoy their boat on the kager and west ponds. In 1963, the owner's father-in-law bought the boat. In 1989, the son-in-law took it over as a "wreck" and had it fully restored in its original state in 2000/2001, with, as said, all the comfort and luxury as desired today.
