SYMBOL 48 Long Range CLASSIC, A Convergence of Quality, Performance and Style
In 2009, Symbol proudly launched a new project the "Symbol 48 Classic Pilothouse" we are now introducing the 48 Symbol Long Range Classic Pilothouse. Reasons to purchase: additional fuel standard, standard Bulbous Bow, standard bilge keels, standard deck seating fore & aft, up to three staterooms standard, standard amidships master, wide 15'10" beam and well equipped with your choice with our "Cruising Package".
The new "Symbol 48 LR Classic Pilothouse" incorporates a comfortable climate controlled pilothouse behind the Portuguese bridge. New Symbol LR Classic model based on a semi-displacement hull built with high standards:
The Hull and structure flexural and tensile strength meet ABS, “Guide for Building and Classing Motor Pleasure Yachts, 2-2000"
All Systems are built to meet or exceed ABYC standards.
Hull bottom is solid single skin, with topsides and deck manufactured from close-cell high density foam.
The core and inner skin are both laminated using the Infusion process.
Isothalic gel coat is by Cook USA, and is UV proof.
Available in Twin or Single engine installations.
Standard with Bulbous Bow to further enhance range.
With a 14' air draft to FB venturi the 48 Classic is an excellent choice to cruise the "Great Loop".
We are open 7 days a week by appointment your office of ours. Phone or text Peter V direct @ 401 338 1717 for information on the new 48 Symbol LR Classic or other Symbol model, we have over 14 years experience building Symbol Yachts.

“Mid ship P. & S. bilge keels” (mid ship hydro-fairing appendage) will drive the water flow through propeller with cleaner and less turbulence stream; increase stability when under way.
“Advantage of bulbous bow”, Bulbous bow tends to decrease the wave height, which created by the hull itself as the boat traveling through the
water. In addition, it’ll make the water line longer. Both result less resistance, higher propulsion efficiency and less pitching.
1. Her long and slender bow design constitutes a fine entry. Her forward round-bilge with steep dead-rise angle reduces the slamming. Her slightly convex hull at stern allows the narrower transom line at water level.
2. She has a hard and soft combined chine. The chine at the entire bow section is above the water’s “under-way” wave contour thus it pushes up relatively smaller bow wave with less resistance under power. (Please refer to the attached photo xx of her sister ship.)
3. Her low ballast ratio tends to reduce the roll acceleration so makes the ride motion more comfortable.
4. In addition to her long center keel, her fixed twin amid-ship sectional bilge keels provides even better roll attenuation and enhanced directional stability.
5. Her large center rudder and propeller are protected by a large skeg on single engine models.
6. The bulbous bow will help optimize the performance.
For boater who average dock the boat or on hook 50% of the time, under power in coastal waters or traveling to the islands 40% of the time and crossing ocean 10% of the time, the Symbol 48’ Long Range Classic Pilothouse is the ideal boat as boaters will be able to live comfortably and travel long distances safely and economically.
