The boats are designed by Robert H. Perry. It is the smaller version of the Flying Tiger 10, designed to satisfy the high performance sailor while reducing the intimidation factor and is a very manageable package. National One Design Sailing Academy currently operates a fleet of 10 boats for its sail training and regatta operations. The Recreational Boating Standards implemented by Transport Canada prevent many boats from being compliant, the FT7.5 can easily meet these standards set. The FT7.5 is a fast, fun and affordable platform. It is the ideal boat for yacht club fleets, designed to satisfy the need of yacht clubs for a high performance boat that can be match, team, and fleet raced while providing a stable platform for teaching beginners. This makes the boat dynamic enough to hold corporate events and host high level competition. With an open cockpit over 4 meters in length it can carry a large crew and the control layout allows it to be sailed by a limited crew. The FT7.5 is constructed using infusion for the hull lay up and vacuum bagging for the deck and all interior bulkheads. It is built with a lifting keel that makes the boat easy to trailer or be stored on a yard dolly.

The Flying Tiger 7.5 meter is the latest in the line of sailing sport boats built by Hansheng Boatbuilding Co. of Xiamen, China. Designed by Robert Perry and marketed world-wide by Flying Tiger Boats, the FT 7.5 provides a fast, fun, and affordable platform that is suitable for beginning sailors, families, and racers. With a cockpit over 4 meters in length the FT 7.5 can carry a large crew with room to spare. Below decks there is a V-berth forward and two settee berths for those rare overnights. The 7.5 is built with a raising keel that makes the boat easy to store on land or trailer. Carbon fiber mast, boom, and prodder along with Aramid sails and an asymmetrical spinnaker are included with the boat and ill please those looking for high performance at an affordable price.
