This boat comes with a fully retractable canvas canopy as well as a tonneau cover. Sun lovers will also like the L-shaped SunChaiser lounge, it has a pivotal backrest that means you to sit facing either forward or aft — so passengers can, in fact, chase the sun — or it can be folded flat to create a full-length sun lounge. In addition to the driver's bench seat, there is a folding bench seat along the transom. A removable table turns the aft cockpit into an entertainment centre.
Deck access is good. The 245 has a substantial freeboard, so Bayliner incorporated a walk-through transom door to the swim platform for ease of boarding. A retractable three-step ladder and stainless-steel grab rail mounted on the swim platform make getting in the boat from the water a easy. Access to the foredeck is also easier than on previous models, thanks to built-in steps on the dash console. Molded-in toe rails on the foredeck lead to a recessed area at the forepeak for safe and convenient handling of lines. In addition to an anchor locker.
The boat also benefits from a full stainless steel pulpit rail running around the length of the foredeck to give an element of safety.
A single 5.0 260hp MerCruiser stern drive will power this boat smoothly through a 3' chop at 25 mph and 3500 rpm.
On the sea these boats are able to get up on the plane in about 6 seconds and hit a top speed of 36.3 mph.
Smaller sports cruisers such as this can often feel cave-like and claustrophobic, but the headroom in the 245 is a generous 6'2". Running the length of the cabin on both sides are large frameless side windows that let in lots of natural light and create a light a airy atmosphere. These are in addition to the large overhead hatch. Even the midcabin berth, which on some boats can resemble a coffin, seems airy due to the two port holes allowing light directly into the berth.
The galley is located to Port and is well equipped with 240v microwave oven, single electric/alcohol hob, stainless steel sink with chrome mixer tap and 12v under counter fridge for all the essentials. The worktop is constructed of corrian type material and finished in a blue/cream fleck.
To Starboard is the heads/wet room with pump-out toilet system. White moulded sideboard with integrated sink, mixer tap and an ample storage cupboard below.
The bow area consists of a V-shaped dinette in a coffee cream leatherette with an oval table and is a great place to gather for meals or games, this also has the added benefit of converting in to the 2 extra berths and creating the second double bed. There is also storage below for bedding when not in use.
