Lovingly cared for by her original owner who used her for coastal cruising in New England this Caliber 40 LRC carries numerous upgrades for pushing further afield. These nicely built and finished 2 stateroom's are comfortable for a wide range of cruising activities and are very well thought out providing great functionality.
END GAME has had exceptional care and is a great offering.
Known as being very commodious vessels, the Caliber 40 offers accommodations for up to six in a 2 stateroom, 2 head layout with a full varnished teak interior with a varnished teak and holly sole. Headroom is 6'-4" throughout.
The Nav Station, facing outboard behind the galley, has a red- or white-lit chart table with hinged lid and chart storage underneath. The neatly arranged AC and DC electrical panels, VHF radio, and a number of other instruments, controls, and displays are located at the nav station.
The Guest Head, at the base of the companionway and across from the galley and nav station, is accessible from the salon, the cockpit, or through a second dedicated privacy door from the aft stateroom. This head has a sink, marine toilet, full-length mirror, shower nozzle, and two storage lockers.
Aft of the second head, the Guest Stateroom has a double bed (which nicely serves as a sea berth on offshore passages), a cedar-lined clothes-hanging locker, a locker underneath, its own door for privacy, and direct access to the second head.
Ventilation – The entire below decks is kept comfortable with an incredible amount of natural light and ventilation comprised of 14 opening ports, 7 Lewmar Ocean hatches (2 large and 5 smaller), 2 dorade vents, and a mushroom solar vent in the shower. In addition, 11 two-speed, high-capacity, low-current fans move the inside air for added comfort on warm days.
On Deck: The Caliber 40 has a modern "T" shaped cockpit with lazarettes aft and large sail locker to port. All control lines lead aft including the lines for the first two reefs. The cockpit has seats large enough to sleep on and superb drainage with 3 1.5" drains. Wide side decks with extruded aluminum toe rails and double stainless steel stanchions and lifelines with gates P&S, double stainless steel bow and stern rails.
Keel stepped double spreader Seldoe aluminum rig finished in off-white Awlgrip with 1X19 stainless steel wire rigging. An easily detached mid-stay allows her to be set up as a cutter rig which the owner has typically used when sailing offshore.
Set up for coastal and trans-oceanic cruising.
Nav. Station Electronics
Wired for both 12 volt DC and 110 Volt AC service. A Xantrex 2500 watt inverter will handle lighter AC loads when off the dock. With the extensive wind and solar charging fitted this Caliber 40 is well set up for extensive cruising be it coastal or offshore.

ENDGAME, a superb 2005 Caliber 40 LRC is for sale by her first owner. During most of the tenure of ownership she has been coastal cruised and stored in inside heated storage for 8 months of the year in one of the finest yards we know of.
A modified fin keel with skeg-hung rudder makes the Caliber 40LRC exceptionally responsive and quick, with outstanding directional stability even through pounding seas. Because she has an unusually large displacement for a boat of her size, the Caliber moves steadily in heavy seas, and because of her high ballast-to-displacement ratio, the Caliber is very stable (and therefore safe) in rough water. Much of the Caliber's weight is due to her superior construction and not just added ballast, so Caliber owners can be extra certain that their boat can take what the sea dishes out. Other builders may extol their use of exotic new building materials to save weight, but Caliber Yachts sticks with hefty, hand-crafted lamination - a time-tested construction method that provides layer upon layer of strength against tough offshore conditions. It's the reason why the Caliber 40LRC feels so solid - and why Caliber Yachts guarantees its hulls for life against structural defects to the original owner. Caliber Yachts are built for outstanding resistance to collisions, with extra layers of solid fiberglass at potential impact points. In case of damage to the bow or rudder, a watertight collision pocket and a rudder post dam are designed to minimize flooding.
