The cockpit coaming is wider aft adjacent the wheel to provide comfortable outboard seating for the helmsman. The cockpit sole is inlaid teak. The sail and equipment locker to port can be secured with a lock operated from the main cabin. A 36-inch stainless destroyer type wheel is mounted on a pedestal with guardrail along with engine controls and a 6-inch compass fitted in a stainless steel binnacle. An emergency tiller steering system is provided. A complete range of engine instruments and switches is recessed in locations handy to the helmsman.
Finished in mahogany, ash, or cherry with hull sides sheathed to match bulkheads, the cabin sole is of 3-4" solid teak with holly splines. Countertops are surfaced with owner's choice of ColorCore Formica or optional Corian. All hanging lockers are cedar lined. A wide variety of material is available for berth upholstery. The standard layout is a dinette arrangement to port and a transom berth to starboard. Optional, custom arrangements are available. An oversized quarter berth is located to starboard. A drop leaf table affords comfortable seating for six. A large full length hanging locker is located forward to starboard. A 3 drawer bureau is located to starboard just forward of the transom berth and locker storage is located behind seats and under pilot berths. Closed shelving is installed above quarter berth.
There are two winch handle pockets located in each coaming, and these are trimmed in stainless steel. Substantial teak toe-rails are fit to a Hinckley polished stainless steel stem fitting with forward, integral chocks. Custom stern chocks aft are located at the base of the stern pulpit. The two 12-inch foredeck cleats and the two 10-inch aft deck cleats are polished stainless steel. Deck scuppers are fitted with stainless screens and drain to the boot top. Genoa track is of l 1-4-inch x l-2-inch T-section stainless steel and is recessed to deck level to protect bare feet. Two Hinckley double-hinged hatches with teak frames and a large teak dorade box with two 5-inch cowl vents provide ventilation below. Bow and stern pulpits and stanchions are constructed by Hinckley in stainless steel. The double lifeline system contains opening gates, port and starboard. There is a varnished teak staff ensign provided with a stern mounting bracket. All exterior teak is finished bright with eight coats minimum of Hinckley tuna oil varnish. All stainless steel on deck is the highest grade 316L low carbon.
The navigation station is located across from the galley and is separated from the main cabin and quarter berth areas by partial bulkheads. Storage for charts is located within the navigation desk, and general storage is available in the nav. seat and in 3 drawers under the desk.
