Several years ago, before they bought this boat, the now owner approached me about an ideal catamaran for an older couple that would be comfortable, reasonable to sail, and that would maintain its value. On the short list was the FP Belize 43 Maestro.
Fast forward two years, and after several wonderful seasons aboard, the owners are ready to sell her and move on from sailing for health reasons. So, now this boat comes back on the market, and is a solid example of an owners version, never chartered Belize.
SERENDIPITY II is a turn key cruiser's boat now. I recently sold a sister ship for low 300K's, but SERENDIPITY II is on for a bit less. The reasons for that are simple, the boat has in mast furling on the main, which while being ideal for an older couple, is not as high performance as a fully battened, roachy catamaran mainsail. The standing rigging on the boat is original, and while it has had recent surveys and evaluations saying it is fine, conventional wisdom says this should be replaced. There is some original upholstery and electronics too. Thus, the price.
That's the bad stuff.
The good is plentiful, reasonable engine hours (mid 3K's). Watermaker. Air conditioning. Generator, dinghy. New trampolines. Great layout, and very nice interior and exterior condition. Yanmar 3GM's. In any case, this is a great boat for a live aboard who wants to have everything, and at a reasonable price.
