Accommodations
The interior of the Jeanneau 40DS is fantastic - very bright and spacious with a great layout. The cabins are well thought out providing an abundance of space, storage and comfort. This is the 2 cabin / 2 head model.
From the cockpit, one enters the spacious main salon with tables on each side, both of which are sufficiently elevated that one can watch the outside world while seated at these tables. The port side table serves a dual purpose. It can be part of the conversation group with its two chairs adding to the dinette seating around the other table, or it can serve as the navigation table for the navigation station.
The master stateroom is forward and occupies the full width of the boat. It has a centerline double berth. The stateroom is very spacious and offers a desk and locker storage in the aft port corner. Opposite this area is the master head with electric toilet and vanity with mirror.
Next aft is the main salon. Its very bright and airy with just about 360 degree visibility with the large windows. The galley is aft on the starboard side. Just aft of the galley is a small utility room, serving mainly for storage but also for very easy access to the Racor filters serving the main engine and the generator.
The aft head is located between the quarter cabin and the port side seating and navigation station. Aft of this head, one enters the quarter cabin with a spacious double berth and excellent storage in hanging lockers.
Galley
The U-shaped galley is down the companionway to the starboard side. There is ample counter space for food preparation and lots of storage in cabinets above and behind the stove and several lockers below the counter top as well as a separate pantry just aft of the galley.
