Windigo benefits from the redesign of the 42's which was accomplished in 1991 offering a wider beam and additional length. The traditional styling remains the same with a comfortable V-berth arrangement forward, large open main salon area and galley midship and a comfortable owners stateroom aft equipped with a SLEEP NUMBER queen size matress.
The larger forward cabin has the standard V berths, ample storage lockers and drawers. The enlarged head contains an opening port, shower, and Vacu-flush toilet plumbed to the holding tank, or overboard discharge. The living areas are cooled and heated by 3 Marinaire units which are separate and thermostatically controlled. The main saloon contains a fixed helm seat to starboard where all instruments easily accessed. Excellent visability [ almost 360 degree ] while driving from below. The center windshield is opening and all 3 are equipped with wipers and washers. Doors, port and starboard, offer easy deck access. The port side up galley offers an excellent vantage point for cooking while underway. Aft of the fixed helm seat is additional storage leading to the L shaped settee, with beautiful fold down teak table. Across to port from the settee is additional seating, and an optional refrigerator/freezer. A convenient "pass-thru" to the fly bridge is also located in the galley overhead. Further aft and down to the owner's stateroom is the walk around queen berth, large desk/vanity to port and ample storage for your wardrobe and personal needs via drawers and hanging lockers. The private Vacu-flush head and vanity is to port, seperate from the private shower room to starboard. Both areas are white mica with teak trim for easy clean up. Optional opening hatches and ports offer all weather cruising comfort, and light.
The traditional galley runs along the port side of the main salon and imparts an open and airy feeling. Ample storage and counter space is available for the long term passage maker. Equipped with a large stainless steel sink, with separate Seagul filtered water system and spigot, 3-burner Princess electric stove with oven and broiler, microwave oven and two large stainless steel lined Grunert refrigerators, one which can also be used as a freezer.
