Capricious is a fast, no non-sense racing sailboat with plenty of cockpit space for your crew, and plenty of deck space for those rapid sail changes. She is wide and stable, but moves nicely in the lightest of winds, but can handle the heavy winds without a whimper. With her elliptical keel and rudder she comfortably sails to her PHRF rating of 84!
The rig features a double spreader tapered mast with rod rigging, Harken adjustable genoa tracks and spinnaker pole track, and hydraulic backstay with remote panel adjustments. The cabin area down below has been purposely kept spartan, with minimal creature comforts. It does have pipe berths and a port-a-potty, but there is a complete head and holding tank system that originally came with the boat if the new owner would like to install it. The cabin also has a nav table and some light electronics.
Getting to and from the race course is easily accomplished with a sweet running Yanmar 3GM30 27 HP diesel driving a Martec folding prop. The engine was just serviced in May 2015, and the last bottom job was in 2012.
If you're looking to make a splash on the racing circuit, this is one of the most economical ways of getting into the thick of the action. Fortunately for your friends and competition, Capricious has a very attractive stern, because that's the area they will be seeing the most of!
