THE ICONIC MODEL THAT STARTED THE GRAND BANKS LEGEND
As the design that spawned the recreational trawler market which American Marine created in the mid-60’s, the Grand Banks 36 Classic created a cruising style that has endured to this day and has developed a loyal following among knowledgable cruisers who are looking for an economical and dependable yacht for our inland waters. In today’s world of rising prices, American Marine’s original slogan, “Dependable diesel cruisers”, has renewed meaning and this well-maintained example fits the bill.
The Classic layout, with two staterooms separated by the salon, provides the perfect blend of space, comfort and manageable size for a couple with children or guests. The large salon windows, a Grand Banks signature design element, surround the owner and guests, flooding the salon with daylight and providing a 360-degree view and excellent visibility from the helm station for confident close-quarter maneuvering.
Grand Times’s diesel-fired furnace, Northern Lights generator and inverter augment the usual Grand Banks practical layout, sturdy fiberglass construction, deep water design, and long range capability to offer her owner a complete cruising vessel. On deck, one finds the wide and secure walk-around decks protected by generous bulwarks and staunch railings for which Grand Banks is respected.
Lovingly cared for and updated by her current owner, Grand Times has been kept under cover for the last 10 years. You won't find a cleaner 36 currently on the market in the PNW. Her brightwork has been beautifully and professionally maintained by Native Brightworks. Her teak decks are in top condition, showing virtually no wear. She is a true beauty and has taken her current owners north along the Inside Passage to the very northern extremes of Vancouver Island. Pride of ownership is evident, her owners treating her as the member of the family that she is.
Grand Times follows the traditional Grand Banks layout with a v-berth forward including berth filler panel, ample stowage, overhead hatch and side portlights, and a private head compartment with shower and Vacu-Flush head. Moving aft and up three steps, the salon provides generous light and 360 degree visibility. Her straight galley to port offers the chef a full compliment of equipment featuring a cold plate refrigerator unit and electric stove/oven. To starboard, aft of the helm is the dry-bar unit and an L-settee with drop-leaf dining table. Further aft and down 3 steps is the Master Stateroom with double berth to starboard a single to port, a second private head compartment with separate shower stall and Vacu-Flush head. The split berth layout affords room for a very spacious hanging locker to port and generous drawer stowage between the berths. A 15" Philips flat panel TV with separate DVD player resides atop the drawer unit. Ample portlights, aft companionway to the cockpit and plenty of stowage complete this cabin.
All accessories remain with the vessel with the exception of the artwork.
Seller reserves the use of the vessel name Grand Times.
