From Powerboat Guide.com:
Pace Yachts began operations in 1987 with the introduction of the Pace series of Taiwan-built convertibles and sportfisherman. These boats were constructed using the molds of some earlier Egg Harbor designs (the molds ended up in Taiwan following Egg Harbor's production shutdown in 1987), most notably the Egg Harbor 36 and 40 Sedans and the well-regarded Egg Harbor 48 Sportfisherman. While the appearance of the newer Pace models was nearly identical on the outside of the earlier Egg Harbors, the interiors were revised and updated, and all with an abundance of teak woodwork-both inside and out. The original convertible models sold quite well for a few years....
Taiwan remake of the classic Egg Harbor 36 sedan (1976-1985) retained the look, feel of the original at a very attractive price. Offered with one or two stateroom floorplans, both completely finished with well-crafted teak joinery. Cockpit came with molded bait station, tackle center, transom door. Additional features included teak cockpit sole, sliding cabin windows, bow pulpit....Optional 320 hp Cat diesels cruise at 20 knots and reach 25-26 knots wide open.

In the 1980's one of the most popular offshore motor yachts were the Egg Harbors. The fiberglass molds for Egg Harbor Yachts ended up in Taiwan where Pace yachts began building fiberglass boats in the Egg Harbor molds and finishing them with the materials and labor available in Taiwan. Although the hulls were obviously the same design, the finish work and wood work were much nicer than the earlier boats and the prices were significantly more competitive.
The cockpit is set up with molded Bait Station, engine controls, tackle center and transom door.
With a pair of Cat 3208 engines and a Westerbeke Generator, the boat is ideal for cruising, fishing, or just day trips.
Twin Caterpillar 3208 engines (Serial # 1Z08062 and 1Z07949)
Turbo Charged, Inter cooled, fresh water cooled
Engine hours: less than 3000 hrs
The results of a survey done in June 2015 are available for seriously interested purchasers.
The survey did not include a sea trial and "no observations regarding engines and performance of same are offered in this report"
Stepping into the open cockpit of the 36' Pace you can immediately understand and appreciate the layout of this modified Egg Harbor hull. With the molded bait station and tackle center on the starboard side and open transom with transom door the layout is very functional for fishing, cruising or entertaining and depending on your specific needs can be adapted to maximize your enjoyment and use of the boat.
With storage compartments on Starboard and port and under the cockpit floor, there are plenty of places to store dock lines, fenders, and sports activity gear.
The Stainless steel ladder leads to the fly bridge on the port side has a nice handrail and slight incline for easy stepping up and down.
The spacious fly bridge can accommodate the helmsman and a companion behind the wheel and 3 people comfortably seated in front of the helm with total 360 degree visibility.
The door from the cockpit to the main salon takes up as little room as possible by sliding open and the main salon feels much very open and much like a larger boat with the galley on port and seating around the dining table on starboard.
Forward of the dining table on Starboard is a bar/entertainment center that can serve any number of purposes.
Down the steps to the forward cabin has the head with separate shower stall on starboard across the hall from the guest cabin with bunk beds. The forward cabin has a centerline queen and very comfortable accommodations with storage and lighting for a good nights rest.
The access to the engine room is excellent. There are multiple hatches in the floor of the main cabin to take a quick look in or you can open it all up and get to the engines and generator from above, from the front and from the aft cockpit. There is also plenty of space to work around the engines so you or your mechanic can easily do the regular service and maintenance.
