The Marine Trader 40 Sundeck is a popular and economical long-range cruiser that doesn't skimp on comfort. Two staterooms with ensuite heads, large galley with dinette, spacious main salon, dual helm stations and a large covered aft deck provide plenty of room for living aboard or entertaining. The flybridge has a full enclosure and the seating gives guests a 360 degree view of the water. The full-width sundeck is among the largest to be found on a boat this size. At about 7 knots, this cruiser uses just under 4gph, so she's capable of up to 600 NM before re-filling the fuel tanks. If you're planning a trip down the ICW, doing the "Grand Loop", or just living aboard, this is the boat for you!

"Introduced in 1983, the Marine Trader 40 Sundeck is a roomy aft cabin cruising yacht notable for her affordable price and economical operation. Like most Marine Trader models, the 40 rides on a solid fiberglass hull with hard aft chines, a well-flared bow, and a long, prop-protecting keel. Her standard two-stateroom interior— completely finished with well-crafted teak joinery—is arranged with the galley down, which allows for a wide-open salon. If the bow stateroom is a little small, the owner’s aft stateroom is huge with plenty of built-in storage drawers, a big hanging locker, and a large head with a built-in tub. A serving bar opposite the lower helm overlooks the galley, and port and starboard deck doors in the salon provide easy access to the decks. Topside, the full-width sundeck is among the largest to be found on a boat this size. Additional features include an aft-deck hardtop, teak handrails, bow pulpit, and a teak swim platform. Twin 135hp Lehman diesels (a single Lehman is standard) will cruise the Marine Trader 40 at an economical 7–8 knots with a top speed of about 10 knots."
This boat is nicely laid out for comfortable living aboard, as well as for entertaining. There are two private staterooms with ensuite heads, spacious salon with an inside steering station and abundant storage. The well-equipped galley is down and is equipped with a full-size refrigerator/freezer.
The galley is large and provides an abundance of storage and food prep areas.
