If you could only use one word to summarise this boat, then the word undoubtedly would be "Pretty" Other words would be functional, stable, sea-worthy, stately, beamy but she is without a doubt a very very pretty boat. You would also be forgiven for thinking at first glance she was a Grand Banks due to her flared bow and aft deck. The reason for this is that the builder and designer of this boat are Havorsen and Kong, and Joseph Kong was the production director for Grand Banks, in charge of production when at the American Marine yard in Singapore.
This Island Gypsy 32 is typical of the "Trawler Yacht" class with her hard chined hull, broad beam and fine entry making her a very comfortable ride in a sea way.
GRP constructed hull with simulated carvel hull in white. White GRP super structure with toughened glass windows in wheelhouse. Teak laid upper helm, cockpit and side decks all add that touch of class and durability.
The interior is finished to a very high standard with parquet style flooring and excellent cabinet work. The saloon is bright and comfortable with seating dining area to starboard and full linear galley to port. The galley features a full 4 burner hob with oven and grill, stainless steel sink and front opening fridge.
The vessel can sleep 5 persons in comfort. Large double berth in fore cabin for the owners and the afore mentioned dining area converts to a sizeable double with single opposite on port side. Large heads with shower and a huge wardrobe cum storage area opposite.
Vessel powered by twin Ford Lehman Super 90's which have been fitted with turbos to increase horse power to 115 each side. She will sit happily all day at 7 knots burning a measly 2 gallons per hour. Comprehensive navigation package including GPS/Plotter, Radar, Autopilot and sounders.
This would suit the couple keen to embark on long range cruising. Viewing highly recommended.
