Designed by Ed Dubois and built by Westerly Yachts in 1987. YF45 The Westerly Storm 33 OOD is a fin keel, aft cockpit performance cruising yacht. Modern layout with forward and aft cabins, spacious saloon, good chart table, galley and aft heads.
In present ownership since 1999 & wintered ashore each year.
White GRP hull with blue styling line. Cast iron external fin keel, semi-balanced spade rudder with tiller steering. Underwater surfaces epoxied by Fox’s Marina - 1999
White GRP deck, superstructure and draining aft cockpit. Grey non-slip painted side decks & coachroof. Teak laid cockpit seats. Teak cockpit sole grating. Cream GRP internal moulding, teak internal joinery.
Volvo 2002 18hp twin cylinder diesel engine, flexibly mounted. Seawater cooling. Electric start, single lever control. Reversing reduction gearbox with shaft driven two bladed fixed propeller. Replacement gearbox 2001. 2 front engine feet replaced 2011. Disc rope cutter.
Fuel: 80 litres in stainless steel tank
Freshwater: 180 litres in two stainless tanks
12 volt system – 3 x 12v domestic & 1 x engine start batteries – all new 2015. Charging by engine driven alternator. 12v internal lighting throughout. Navigation lights including bow, stern, steaming, deck and masthead Tri-white lights. Air Marine wind generator. 220v shore power system – European sockets below. Battery charger.
Masthead sloop rig. Kemp silver alloy deck stepped double spreader mast and slab reefing boom, spinnaker pole. Stainless Steel standing rigging replaced 2007 with split backstay. Harken twin groove headsail furling system. Terylene running rigging, including spinnaker gear, led back to cockpit with 10 x Spinlock clutches.

Chart table to starboard with seat and storage, wet locker behind.
Heads – GRP moulded compartment aft to stbd with washbasin & sea toilet, storage.
Galley – to port with Plastimo 2000 two burner gimballed gas cooker with oven & grill. Two s/s sinks with cold water supply. Top opening 12v refrigerated coolbox - Coolmatic.
Aft cabin to port with double berth and hanging locker. Head lining currently removed, replacement in progress.
