Built in Thorel Shipyard, St-Lambert de Levis, Quebec, in 1985 by Guy Deberteau.
Moana 1 is a Chatam 33 designed by Naval Architect Gilbert Karoff.
The hull is in steel for safety and durability.
Two inches of urethane foam insulation was added to the interior of the hull to make her a quiet,
comfortable in cold and hot weather.
The interior all solid teak was built by Gilles Bastien of St-Paul Ile aux Noix.

Moana 1 was repainted all in Guatemala in September 2011
