Amnesia was purchased by the current owner in October 2000 from Portland, OR where it had been kept in a boathouse on freshwater. Trucked to Puget Sound and launched she had 2100-hours on her big blocks. Operated and enjoyed thru 2004 with routine maintenance.
Kept in covered moorage on Lake Washington.
In 2005 the owner began a labor of love, carefully restoring Amnesia to better than new condition without regard to cost. A high tech machinist, he was able to build custom stainless hardware, trim, brackets, ladders, bow roller, antenna stand offs, and other parts as desired.
The engines and marine gears were overhauled, bilge and engine room re-gelcoated, new sound deadening material, new tanks, bonding system, rudder supports. Water system, and washdown. New batteries, chargers, wiring. A computer, communications, and entertainment electronics. A new settee in the salon and table. Rebed the windows. The varnish looks perfect
He found the original swim step supplier to Chris Craft in the Midwest, and it looks perfect.
A new davit from Roskelley.
Exterior trim replaced with machined stainless and polished to a high luster. Brackets and hardware machined and polished. It is gorgeous.
The hull was peeled and re-laminated with vinylester resin and coated with epoxy. New shafts, dripless shaft seals, new cutlass bearings. Perfect alignnment.
Amnesia is better than new. In 1999 she found the perfect owner that had the time, skills and resources to raise her to the highest level.
This boat is incredible. Timeless lines, heavy construction, new systems.
