As elderly novices we chose and fitted out the boat to be comfortable and easy to handle. Hence, the bilge keels, the encapulated lead ballast, junk rig and Lavac wc and large holding tank with divertor valves/ pump out and washing facilities. The Kiwiprop allows us to sail more and motor less, the powerful junk sail enabling us to make progress in the lightest airs. It is, of course, exceptionally easy to handle and reef.
Only ill health forces us to give up. We have sailed from the Hamble to Oban and Ireland, and have spent weeks aboard and have encountered some rough conditions.
