ELLINOR was built in Sweden in 1936 as a sturdy, seakindly cruising ketch. She has undergone extensive refits and upgrades over the last 20 years. An extensive history detailing back to her launching is available. ELLINOR is oak planked on bent oak ribs, every 3rd rib steel. Copper fastened. Heavy 1/4" FRP sheathing in the early 1970s. Bright spars, 2002 sails, PERKINS 60 diesel, pressure H&C water, propane 2 burner stove with oven. SEALAND holding tank system. Tiller steering. At the moment, Ellinor is in need of cosmetic attention to her exterior deck paint and varnish.

Sleeps 5, two in forward cabin V-berth w/filler piece, two in portside converting settee and one in the starboard settee. Hanging locker opposite the starboard head compartment which has a marine head to macerator and Y valve to holding tank or overboard discharge. Sink and shower with H&C pressure water. Solar powered ventilator. Navigation station aft to starboard. Centerline dining table. New interior upholstry in 2005.
Galley aft to port with S/S sink, H&C pressure water and freshwater foot pump. PLASTIMO ATLANTIC propane 2 burner stove/oven. Well insulated icebox holds 50# of ice for long periods.

Ketch rig with 900 sq feet of sail area
Doyle 100% genoa, main and mizzen sails. Staysail. Most sail controls led to the cockpit. In 2007 the spruce masts were wooded and freshly varnished. New fur bowsprit in 2005. Spruce booms. S/S standing rigging. FURLEX jib furler. Mast step replaced in '06. Two pairs of cockpit mounted MURRY sheet winches. Assorted other sails including a "blopper" and mizzen staysail.
Green topsides, white waterline and red bottom. The hull was originally constructed of 1" oak planks on steambent oak ribs, steel every third one, cooper riveted. In 1970 the hull was covered in 1/4" fiberglass. The bottom was stripped and epoxy barrier coated in 2003. Ballast is reported to a combination of lead and concrete. Original teak over fur decks were removed in 1999 and replaced with a plywood and fiberglass glass overlay. Toerails and rubrails replaced at the same time. Freshly painted, the decks look great.
