LYS NOIR is a 1914 tall ship, built in Arachon by Barriere Shipyards.She is considered one of the flagships of the French Yachting fleet. She is also registered Marine Marchande (French Navy) regulations for 11-19 passengers with 2 crew mambers. This ship can be used as well for chartering, as a sailing school or privately. She was completely rebuilt in 1984-85, then in 1990-92: floor double ribs in oak, planking and deck in iroko, new keel bolts, new rudder and stainless components. Mast and spars are made of Oregon pine (1992), stainless rigging renewed in 2000, other rigging in very good condition. The mainsail is new in 2000 and the other sails new in 2004 and 2005 (jib, staysail and mizzen). Comfortable and elegant below, she has 14 sleepers in 4 cabins, a large ward room, kitchen with stainless steel oven, two sinks, pressured soft water, fridge, stainless steel water tanks ( 2x250 liters), two heads, covered wheelhouse, saddelery renewed in 2003. 95 HP Iveco diesel (1996), two fuel tanks of 280 liters, plus 280 liters, two alternators, two hydraulic steering wheels, electricity for 220 volts. Two GPS (one Garmin and one Navman with electrronic charts), Speedometer, depth sounder, two VHF, distress buoy. All compulsory safety equipment, powered water pump, two self-inflatable life boats (eight persons each), two dinghys (one Zodiak Mark 2 plus Johnson outboard motor), electric windlass, docking lines, winter cover, sails and hatch covers, spare parts and tools. This ship has been well kept and is in very good condition. Her almost new hull allows her to starty a second life with almost anything but annual maintenance.
